    Professional Clearance Checklist

    If there are no such circumstances that we need to be aware of, we would appreciate providing us with the following documents and information:

    • The client’s tax file or the last 6 years income/corporation tax return submitted including all computation, and claims, including trial balance as at the last filed accounts
    • Authentication code for Companies House, a note of the appropriate tax district and UTR
    • A detailed breakdown of debtors and creditors as at the last balance sheet date and breakdown of company fixed assets
    • PAYE codes, payment details, employees details, some of the payroll
    • Pension regulator and all relevant information (employer ID, log in details)
    • Copies of the last P35 / P11D / VAT returns
    • Copies of the last tax return, income tax assessments submitted on behalf of the directors, any outstanding appeals or correspondence
    • Any other relevant information that may be helpful in taking over this client

    If you are holding any records belonging to the company, for example, VAT returns/summaries and payroll documents, we would appreciate your ensuring that they are sent either directly to the company or to ourselves, in order that they may be available in the event of a future HMRC enquiry.
